No, I did not have a BagongPinay art exhibit, even if my pen name is BagongPinay. Rather, to my delight and surprise, there was a two-day art exhibit called “Ang Bagong Pinay” which means “the new Filipina” and was produced by the United Women’s Art Assocation of the Philippine (UWAAP) to promote the welfare and development of womenfolk and informs them of the latest socio-economic and political issues relevant to them.
The exhibit was held when the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) made history and held the first Women’s Summit of their community.
Jennifer Bichara, my wonderful assistant at Pinay.com writes her own blog JennySerendipity and provides more details about the event and the artists here>
